On September 16, 2025, A C$10 billion floating LNG export facility, Ksi Lisims LNG, was approved for Canada's northwest coast with operations targeted for 2028. The project is a joint venture between the Nisga’a Nation, who own the land, Blackstone Inc.-funded Western LNG, and a group of Canadian energy firms called Rockies LNG Partners. With a planned capacity of 12 million tons per year, it is set to become Canada's second-largest LNG export facility.
