Sembcorp Marine has recently delivered a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) to KARMOL for deployment offshore in Senegal.
The 272-m (892-ft) long, 125,470 cu-m (4.43-MMcf) KARMOL LNGT Powership Africa will supply LNG, via the Karadeniz Powership Ayşegül Sultan, for generating electrical power to regions that are short on domestic gas supply production.
KARMOL, which is a joint venture between Karpowership and Mitsui OSK Lines, has commissioned another FSRU for deployment off Mozambique.
Sembcorp said, in its latest results statement that the offshore market was showing signs of having recovery with indicators of active reviews of final investment decisions, although competition for new projects remains intense in the current market.
The group is still actively tendering for projects involving renewable energy, FPSOs, FSOs and FPUs.
