On July 23, 2025 TotalEnergies commenced production from the BEGONIA and CLOV Phase 3 offshore projects in Angola, adding a combined 60,000 barrels per day (bpd). The BEGONIA development, located in Block 17/06, is Angola’s first inter-block project, featuring five subsea wells tied back to the PAZFLOR FPSO. Meanwhile, CLOV Phase 3 in Block 17 includes four subsea wells connected to the CLOV FPSO. Both projects leverage existing infrastructure, ensuring low marginal costs and reduced carbon emissions.
TotalEnergies, in partnership with ANPG, Equinor, ExxonMobil, Azule Energy, and Sonangol E&P aims to boost its upstream production by over 3% in 2025. Nicolas Terraz, E&P President at TotalEnergies, highlighted the efficiency of these tie-back developments in maintaining output while minimizing environmental impact. Paulino Jerónimo of ANPG noted that these projects will help sustain Angola’s oil production above 1 million bpd, with BEGONIA also advancing local content initiatives.

On July 23, 2025 Trendsetter Engineering secured a contract to supply four 15K horizontal subsea tree systems, along with related tooling and installation services, to a major operator in the Gulf of Mexico. This marks a key milestone for the company following its recent expansion into the subsea tree market, bolstered by the acquisition of Innovex's subsea tree product line. The deal strengthens Trendsetter's existing relationship with the client and enhances its capabilities in subsea production systems, covering the entire flow path from the tree to the host facility.
Tony Matson, Senior VP of Projects at Trendsetter, emphasized the company's commitment to meeting market demands with customer-focused solutions. The Houston-based firm, known for providing specialized subsea hardware and offshore services globally, aims to deliver reliable and tailored solutions for oil and gas production, from exploration to decommissioning. This contract underscores its growing presence in the subsea sector.

On July 23, 2025, SLB secured a contract from the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) to provide carbon storage technologies and services for a major CCS project in the North Sea. The NEP—a joint venture between bp, Equinor, and TotalEnergies—is developing infrastructure to transport and store CO2 from the East Coast Cluster, including Teesside and the Humber, in offshore reservoirs. SLB will deploy its Sequestri™ carbon storage solutions to construct six storage wells, covering drilling, cementing, completions, and monitoring services.
The NEP project is critical for decarbonizing the UK’s industrial heartlands, with initial capacity to store 4 million metric tons of CO2 annually starting in 2028. Katherine Rojas of SLB highlighted the role of specialized CCS technologies in ensuring project viability. The Endurance saline aquifer and adjacent stores offer up to 1 billion metric tons of storage capacity, supporting long-term net-zero goals. SLB brings global CCS expertise to enhance the project’s success.
