On September 04, 2025 Clariant Oil Services expanded its commitment to the Norwegian oil and gas market by establishing a new bulk storage and transfer base in Dusavik, Stavanger, in partnership with Swire Energy Services. The fully automated facility featured multiple bulk storage tanks with transfer capabilities to vessels or tote tanks, an adjacent area for Intermediate Bulk Container storage, and an on-site Quality Control laboratory. Full operations were expected to commence in September 2025.

Strategically positioned to support the significant growth in Norway's oil and gas sector, the base was designed to supply and support activities in the Norwegian North Sea. Clariant and Swire stated that the facility represented a key investment to meet customer demand, leveraging Dusavik's high-quality infrastructure and maritime cluster. The partnership combined Clariant's chemical expertise with Swire's comprehensive logistics and transportation services to ensure the safe and efficient handling of high-value products.

On September 04, 2025 Argent LNG submitted its formal request to enter the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) pre-filing process, marking a critical milestone for its proposed 25 million tonnes per annum liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal at Port Fourchon, Louisiana. This step positioned the project at the forefront of the next wave of U.S. LNG development and initiated early coordination with regulators and stakeholders.

The project, which was to be constructed on a 900-acre site, leveraged Port Fourchon's deepwater access and proximity to gas pipelines. It was developed in partnership with leading technology firms and employed a modular construction approach designed to reduce costs and minimize its environmental footprint. Once operational, the facility was intended to be one of the largest in North America, strengthening U.S. energy security and creating economic opportunities for Louisiana.

On September 04, 2025, Alberta's oil production reached a record 4.32 million barrels per day (bpd) in July, driven by increased output from oil sands operations, which also climbed to a record 3.67 million bpd. This surge was primarily attributed to oil sands producers, including Cenovus Energy Inc. and Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., boosting output to utilize the expanded capacity of the Trans Mountain pipeline.

The pipeline's expansion, which added nearly 600,000 bpd of export capacity the previous year, supported stronger local crude prices and facilitated the increased production. Alberta's oil sands, the primary source of crude from Canada—the world's fourth-largest oil producer—saw total provincial output rise by 154,000 bpd in the first seven months of the year compared to the same period a year earlier.
